Photo: How Kids Feel About Homework

I recently stumbled upon this picture of my brother, Greg, from about 18 years ago. It should be on a poster for a "Stop Giving Homework" campaign:

This is the opposite of Euphoria.
I can only assume that our little sister was calling for help.

If you are interested in learning more about the ill-effects of homework on kids (if the picture wasn't convincing enough for you), try these:

  1. I was always so stressed out about homework because I wanted to do well in school. I would spend hours working on my homework every night, and I did get good grades. My younger sister, on the other hand, would do her homework in homeroom and also got good grades...so what does that tell you?!

I have really been enjoying your blog and it is opening my eyes to some things as we prepare to start homeschooling our daughter in the fall. Thanks for challenging the established way of thinking!

  2. @Nuts To You, Yes, your experience with homework says a lot about what good (or not) it does. I have a lot more to say about this so stay tuned... Thank you for the comment and thanks for reading!
